About Me

I am Dr. Saša Ćuković, a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow and an Established Researcher (OA1) at the Institute for Biomechanics (IfB/LMB, under Prof. Dr. William R. Taylor) at the leading European university – Swiss Federal Institute of Technology – ETH Zurich, Switzerland.
I have played a leading role in spinal modeling research under projects funded by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia. I was awarded a Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship at ETH Zurich, a DAAD grant at the Technical University of Munich, Germany, and an OeAD grant at TU Graz and MedUni Vienna, Austria, where I worked on the non-invasive diagnosis of spinal deformities.
My primary research interests include CAD/CAM systems, reverse engineering, non-invasive 3D reconstruction and modeling in engineering and medicine, computational biomechanics, augmented reality, and computer vision. I am the author or co-author of four books and over 80 papers. From 2019 to 2022, I served as a scientific member at the Institute for Information Technologies in Kragujevac, Serbia.
In February 2021, I was named a CATIA Champion by Dassault Systèmes (Paris, France) in recognition of my commitment to promoting and using the CATIA PLM system. I currently serve as Vice Chair of the IEEE Swiss Young Professionals Affinity Group (Swiss IEEE YP AG). Since September 2021, I have been the head of the Functional Spinal Biomechanics group (FSB) at the Laboratory for Movement Biomechanics (LMB), ETH Zurich.
